12 Angry Men

Did you know I once watched this movie twice, back to back, with no break in between? It's hard to describe just how much I love this movie, but I feel like that sums it up well. Apart from one shot in the beginning(which, for me, dampers the moral messaging of the film), this entire movie is cinematic perfection. The acting really brings this movie to life, with some incredible performances being layered on top of great writing and dramatic tension. I never would have thought that watching 12 sweaty white men in a single room argue for two hours would be entertaining, but goddamn is this movie engaging. It's honestly almost impossible for me to stop watching once I've started, and time just flies by as I listen attentively to the dialogue. This movie is a profound masterpiece, and something that I don't think could be created today with the same impact. 12 Angry Men is a masterclass in dramatic filmmaking, and it's one of my favorite movies of all time. (If you're wondering what shot I was talking about, it's the one that shows the overly sad face of the accused).
