All About My Mother
Pedro Almodóvar

I really liked this film. Going in I knew nothing about it, but it was an enjoyable drama that contained a extremely well blended mixture of sorrow, comedy, and romantic tension. This film deals with topics I rarely ever see in media, much less in media from the 90's. The themes and issues the film deals with aren't even directly addressed for a lot of the film, which makes them seem all the more normal and standard for the characters and the world they live in. I imagine that this film is even more engaging and memorable for people who can more closely relate to the characters and the issues they go through; unfortunately I am not one of those people. Still, even without being able to directly see myself in their shoes, the story and drama of the film can be universally understood. This is a visually pleasing, dramatically rich film that is at the same time fun and sad to watch.
