American Psycho

American Psycho is a movie that many people will not enjoy watching, but I am not one of those people. Unlike other films, most of my enjoyment of this movie comes from simply watching and examining the main character. Patrick Bateman keeps things interesting throughout the movie, and Christian Bale's performance saves the entire film. This movie is even more entertaining on a second or third viewing, as there are many scenes or details that become even more interesting the second time around. Apart from Bateman, most of the side characters are completely one-dimensional by design, which causes the viewer to associate themselves even more with Bateman. I also love the detective scenes with William DaFoe, who does a great job in his role as well.  This movie certainly isn't perfect for many reasons, but that does not mean this isn't an extremely interesting and captivating piece of media that is worth watching.
