Damn the English dub for this movie sucks dick. Especially with the main two characters, the voices are just terrible and there are countless incredibly awkward moments because of it. I don't think it's really the voice actors' fault, the sound design in general is really spotty. Anyway, this movie is alright. It's far less imaginative than other Ghibli movies, but there is still a few decent moments that make up for it. The animation is still very good, even if it's not amazing. The story is pretty good, and so are most of the characters, although honestly the main two are not very engaging. There are several undeserved character moments, and their development in general feels weird and spotty, but luckily they are rarely alone in the second half of the movie. I think the ending was fine but the steps to get there could have been done better. Overall, my least favorite Miyazaki film to date. But it's really not all that bad.
