Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon
Ang Lee

2000

Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon will always be a very important film for creating a beautiful blend of fantasy and martial arts. The main characters are all well rounded and alive, and their interactions with each other are all emotional and pronounced. Because I cannot understand the words spoken on screen, I will not comment on the acting too much, but from what I can tell the emotional moments in the movie are very good. The story is mostly quick and to the point (with some exceptions) and the action is fast and magnificent, especially with the wirework used in a lot of the scenes. And when wirework is not used, the movie produces one of the best swordfights ever with the dojo scene. This is a great martial arts film that everyone should see.
