Honestly, this wasn't as crazy of a film as I thought it would be. Its most definitely a movie jam packed with great action, visuals, themes, story, characters, and crazy ideas. It's an all-around good film, there's not much I can think of that drags it down. But yeah, it's not quite as deeply philosophical or conceptually crazy as I had expected. Maybe I'm giving the film a slightly lower grade than I should based on the failure to meet expectations, but I don't feel like this film really dives deep enough into what was possible in the world they created. However they do an amazing job of combining their outlandish fantasy/sci-fi concept with the real emotional story beats of the characters. Also, the action is pretty solid but nothing amazing. It definitely falls off after the first act, but as always Michelle Yeoh is amazing. The acting is pretty great from everyone on the cast as well. While it may seem like I had mediocre thoughts on the film, this is a very positive review for a film that is wonderfully entertaining, funny, and insightful.
