This was exactly what I expected. Not great, not bad, just a pretty mid movie with some good moments mixed in. Don't get me wrong, if you're really into racing or F1 you'll probably really get a kick out of what is probably a movie with some of the best racing scenes ever. As someone who is only marginally aware of F1 rules, it was definitely a little confusing but still entertaining. However, there is not a lot of substance outside of this. The film quickly gets to the point of having Pitt competing in races, and I liked the intro, but it just feels so generic. I mean these are straight caricatures every single one. Not that they're unlikeable, but it's just so easy to predict what will happen at every turn, no pun intended. Pitt also looks like he's half plastic, which he probably is by now. The visuals and racing scenes look great, and all of the acting and stuff is fine as well. Just not an interesting movie at all. Nothing to talk about or discuss. Really just one big advertisement.
