What a stunning film. Stunning not in the "beautiful" way, although the film is certainly filled with so many pretty shots. Stunning not in the "dramatic" way, even though everyone will tell you the ending ripped their heart from their chest and tears from their eyes. It's stunning in the sense that, after watching it in a crowded theater, barely anyone noise was made after the credits began to roll. While I was formulating my own thoughts, I knew the silence was not an admonition of the film's lack of quality but of a shared moment of reprieve from the emotions that were felt. This is truly a work of art in every sense. The acting is stunning alongside the beautiful scenery and shotmaking. The drama is well done and kept me more entertained than I thought I would be. While the general story and themes of the film are simple (for the better), it's hard to describe just how engaging this story is. This is mostly thanks to the superb acting really drawing the audience into the plight of the family, but also thanks to audio and visuals that are just hard to look away from. Go see this movie.
