Happy Gilmore
Dennis Dugan
Directed by:
1996

This is one of the comedies that I have perhaps heard more about than all others. And I'm not surprised why; this is a very well done film with likeable characters, good comedy, and a cheerful yet slightly-raunchy tone that Sandler is so well known for. While the comedy isn't exactly laugh-out-loud funny, it's entertaining and fits well with the rest of the film. The whole plot itself is much funnier in my opinion, with the goofy storyline perfectly walking the line of being ridiculous and serious at the same time. There's a lot to love about the film, from the colorful sets and characters to the sound effects and setpieces. It's no surprise that Happy Gilmore is loved by so many.
