I've come around on this film after watching it a few times. While definitely not one of the better Miyazaki's, the charming story and solid visuals make for a very entertaining and engaging movie. This film is loved by so many for many different reasons, chief among them the great cast of characters and a whimsical yet deeply thematic tone. Howl is perhaps the biggest reason this film is so popular, and it's hard not to enjoy every moment he is on screen. I'm honestly not sure why I didn't enjoy this film more the first time I watched it, I think I was just being a hater. Howl's really has it all, and it makes for a very enjoyable film. These eyes will be watching again soon.
