Inglorious Basterds
Quentin Tarantino
Directed by:
2009

Inglorious Basterds is in contention for Tarantino's best work in my opinion. Between this, Pulp Fiction, and Resevoir Dogs. On any given day I could choose one over the other, and for good reason. This movie is great in almost every way, especially in the dialouge and short but sweet scenes. Many of the sequences in this movie take place in one small area between just a few characters, increasing the intensity and intimacy of their interactions. The characters are rarely shown on the journey, rather we watch them encounter each other at their destination. Even though this may take away some of the buildup of tension, Tarentino does an excellent job quickly building and relieving tension in short sequences. Must watch film.
