John Wick Chapter 4

I personally love this series, as I do with many action movies. I love this particular movie all the same, and for good reason. The action here is as good as ever, the writers and choreographers obviously know what they are doing and continue to invent new and interesting action scenes and fights. I'm surprised Keanu is still able to do some of these stunts, but he does a good job. I also enjoyed some of the new characters and what they brought to the action parts of the movie. The visuals also positively contribute, although they often are a little too artificial and flashy, to the point its almost funny how forced it is sometimes. In terms of the non-action parts of the movie, its bland as usual for the John Wick series. The dialogue is bland and most of the characters are too. John himself is as boring as ever, but at this point I enjoy how stupid his one-liners are. The story is acceptable, but probably the worst of the series so far. This doesn't really matter, as the enjoyment for this movie was never supposed to come from the deep story. The lore of the world is also started to drag in my opinion, as the writers keep introducing new, rather uninteresting concepts (the story concept for this movie is practically identical to the last, although this movie does it a lot better). However, I still really enjoyed it. All in all, John Wick might go down as one of the greatest action series of all time, and this movie is a good addition to the collection. I hope they don't make many more, so as not to let the series grow stale. I would give this film a higher score, but I think the John Wick formula has gotten a little old, and this certainly isn't the best one of the four (so far). Still an incredibly enjoyable experience in the theater and a movie I will certainly be rewatching along with the rest of the Wicks.
