Kiki's Delivery Service

This film has all of the normal things that all Studio Ghibli movies have. Cute and lovable characters, a beautiful and serene setting, and a fantastical and enjoyable experience. However, something that many of these movies lack is a good, well-paced story, and Kiki's Delivery Service fits that trope to a tee. The story is fine for this type of movie, but the 'climax', if you can call it that, is short and unfounded. I definitely had fun watching Kiki make a home for herself in this new place, however the story never really progresses past this initial beginning in any meaningful way. Still, I was entertained throughout the runtime thanks to the likeable characters, decent soundtrack, and great visuals. I really wanted to live and walk around this seaside town thanks to how wonderfully it was illustrated and lived in by the characters. Still, this seems more like a fanfiction written by a teenager than an actual movie script. Not the best Miyazaki movie by a mile.
