It's great to see Will Smith back in a dramatic role once again, because he is always great in them, and King Richard is no different. This movies has great drama and characters to go along with a cool story about rising underground atheletes. I didn't know much about the story of Venus and Serena's childhood before watching this movie, which I think was a good thing because it was interesting to see how they eventually became so famous. While the story is undoubtably good, I think the second half of it loses and little bit of steam as most of the tense drama from the beginning goes away. The movie tries to compensate for this with some family troubles but it isn't set up well and comes off feeling a little forced. The acting, however, is great throughout, especially from Will Smith and Aunjanue Ellis. This is a great movie without a doubt, and one of the best sports movies I've seen in a while.
