Lilo & Stitch 2 Stitch Has a Glitch

While I don't usually watch the direct-to-home-video sequels to popular Disney films, this one wasn't that bad. Despite a different studio and staff, this film is able to retain most of the energy and feel of the first film. In fact, this sequel improves on a few aspects in my opinion, mainly the comedy being much better. The main downturn that affects this film is the storyline, which is much simpler and less interesting than the first. The whole premise is a bit forced, and coupled with the lack of grand sci-fi storytelling that complemented the family drama in the first film, Lilo & Stitch 2 just feels a little flat. The characters and visuals are still great, and I really like the way they fleshed out some of the side characters here. However, thanks again to a weaker story, Lilo & Stitch don't feel like they grow very much as people (or aliens). Not a huge deal but this was one of the stronger parts of the first installment and its a shame to see it go. Anyway, this is a pretty decent comedy that is best for a couple good laughs.
