Damn this movie (the final cut) is long as hell. But somehow, it seems like not a single moment was wasted. While watching the extended edition, I expected there to be a lot of filler scenes to make up that runtime, but it honestly was difficult for me to identify the scenes that played that role. That just goes to show how jam-packed this movie is with great scenes, vistas, characters, action sequences, and much much more. The visuals, soundtrack, and action speak for themselves, and I could recommend this movie for those aspects alone. However, it's the strong climactic storyline and the heroic and lovable characters that elevate this movie to near god-tier status. Aragorn is still one of the coolest characters of all time, Samwise is so lovable and understandable, and Éowyn (despite her relative low screentime) has possibly the best one-liner of all time. There is just so much to love from this movie. It's the perfect ending to an amazing trilogy.
