Marty Supreme

It feels like everyone I knew was aware of this film. Obviously this is because of the great marketing campaign that was put on, but it was still a little surreal seeing people who don't really watch movies in theaters very often talk about going to see it. And it was quite deserved. This is a very good American drama that never really stops itself from doing whatever the hell it wants. The visuals are often striking and always enjoyable, the acting and characters are engaging. The story walks the perfect line between being hard to watch and being so so damn fun to watch. It's honestly exactly what I expected in all of these ways, I have no complaints. The story itself was interesting if not a little crazy, as was Marty thanks to Chamalet's acting. The ending was not quite as jaw-dropping as the rest of the film, and I'm not sure if I enjoyed it as much as others have taken to saying. The film is also extremely Jewish for some reason, made even weirder by the complete lack of inherent connection to the story. But I really can't find anything negative to say about Marty Supreme no matter how long I sit here and type.
