Mission Impossible Rogue Nation

There is a lot to love about this film, and just as much to criticize. This is definitely on the better end of the M:I films, with some great stunt work and action that complements a decent thriller narrative. One thing that stands out in this film compared to the rest is the resurgence of many known characters from previous films, and a more fleshed-out world for the characters to inhabit. I am very glad that they finally added a well-written female character into here, no thanks to Ferguson's great acting (love you Becca). On the other hand, there is a little bit of unnecessary drama with some of the side characters, and there isn't quite as much spectacle as previous films. I do think this is the first film since the original to have a solid understanding of the twists and turns that make a spy thriller great, however they fail to capitalize on it. Still an enjoyable watch, and I'm very excited about the next few installments in the series.
