National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation
Jeremiah Chechik
Directed by:
1989

While probably the best Christmas comedy of all time, Christmas Vacation isn't incredibly good. Make no mistake, this is a fun and funny movie to watch throughout, but it's not outstanding. The comedy is obviously the best part, and it's even better watching it with a father like the one depicted in this film. The characters are good at backing up this comedy, and there's a suprising amount of visual comedy as well. The story, while good, is more like a series of veinettes and not one continuous story, which is totally fine but also feels a little cheap from a writing perspective. Overall, super fun movie to watch with family on Christmas.
