I'd recommend this film to literally anyone. This is a masterclass of a horror that I can't stop thinking about. The simplistic story and characters are the foundation upon which the film's incredible suspense, themes, and scares are allowed to flourish. The acting is really the thing that carries the film; the two main characters are just so good that you end up hating everything they do as if you're watching your own friends make mistakes. You could hear a chorus of groans every time Bear did something stupid, and I was groaning along with them. Navarraette is the real star, she basically is the entire film by herself and if she's even half as good as this in her other films she'll have a long and successful career. There are so many moments that just left my mouth wide open in the theater, unable to watch but also unable to look away. The film uses an interesting combination of horror and cringe to make the viewing experience as difficult as possible while still being so engaging and intense. The film also looks very good for such a small budget, probably a credit to the engunuity of the director/writer/editor Curry Barker (who is now permanently on my radar). This is one of those films that people will be watching decades from now, as long as the thematic tones don't become even more disgusting as time passes.
