This is a movie I would never recommend to someone who doesn't like movies. It's just that type of film, one with some great experimental elements, but lacking all of the traditional things that usually make movies great to watch. The story and characters are virtually non-existent, instead the viewer sees a day in (what's supposed to be) Paris, watching as tourists and natives go about their day. It's filled with visual comedy and tropes, and this is the main attraction of the film. It actually manages to say a lot about capitalism and modernity within this narrow framework, the visuals are just that interesting and captivating. This was acheived, naturally, by constructing an entire mini town for the actors to play around in. The audio isn't focused like a normal film would be, instead a wide range of sounds and conversations accompanies the wide overview shots of the film. The comedy is all visual, and actually pretty hilarious near the second half, but its not enough to make this an extremely enjoyable watch, even for me. Still, a very interesting film for its tropes and conventions.
