Puss in Boots The Last Wish

I heard many many good things about this movie when it came out, but it took me a while to get around to watching it. I have to say, the hype was not real, but this is still a very good movie, and vastly better than the first Puss in Boots installment. The best thing about this film is the characters. All of them are well-written and fun to watch. Honestly, Jack Horner might be the worst one for me, but he was still good. I loved the Wolf, I loved Puss, and I loved the bears. Puss' character arc was also surprisingly well done. The animation was stylized and looked great, and the soundtrack wasn't bad either. The story was pretty good, and while not overly complicated, it didn't need to be. I'm very glad that this film completely forgot about the first, and the direction they took the story and characters was as close as one could have gotten to perfect. The humor isn't as good as I was expecting, but that didn't really matter. For once, a Shrek universe movie didn't rely on it, which was a welcome surprise. All in all, pretty good, worth the watch.
