There's so much to like about this film that I'm not sure where to begin. Sinners is quality film in several ways, from the excellent acting to the stellar soundtrack and visuals. Jordan gives two excellent performances, creating two fleshed-out and unique characters. The film is a feast for the eyes and ears simultaneously, especially that one scene in particular (you'll know what I'm talking about if you've seen the film). The writing is so good that it's easy to forget that this is pretty much a hack-and-slash horror flick. And in this regard the film is great, the second half of the story is wholly entertaining. The first half can be a little slow, but it doesn't waste any time in introducing and developing relationships between several interesting characters. Looking at many of the reviews for the film, I think Sinners is becoming a little overrated. However, I am not surprised that so many people have fallen in love with this great movie. I'm excited to see what Coogler gets his hands on next.
