Spider Man
Sam Raimi
Directed by:
2002

It's been years since I've seen the Maguire Spider-Mans, and likewise I have forgotten just how likeable this film is. While everything is a bit corny and plain, the charming atmosphere combined with the well-written and played characters makes for an entertaining experience. The action and visuals actually hold up pretty well for the poor quality CGI of the time. The singular major thing that drags this film down is Maguire himself, who is not very engaging playing as Peter Parker. His constant blank stares and flatly delivered dialouge make it seem like even Peter doesn't really care about half the things that happen in his life. Anyway, this is a pretty solid action film with some great visual style.
