Spider Man Across the Spider Verse

Like the first Spiderverse movie, this was an extremely enjoyable experience in the theater. I had high expectations, and those expectations were completely met on every level. The visuals were stylized and top-notch, next to the incredible action. The comic-like visuals pair so well with the action sequences, and I'm pretty confident in saying they are some of the best in any animated movie I have ever seen. The soundtrack is also very good (I love 2099's theme), although the random pop songs they included weren't as good as the ones from the previous movie. In terms of the story; it's really good. People who have watched the movie will know that the ending leaves you wanting more, but it also left me a little dissapointed. I was really wishing this was an entire storyline on its own, but I am extremely excited for the next installment in the series. This is a better-than-good movie on all fronts, however it just isn't as good as the first one for a few reasons. The character writing just isn't as good in this one in my opinion, especially with the old Peter. The storyline isn't concise and satisfying, which isn't as big of a deal as it sounds but still something that takes away from the experience. I think there just wasn't enough time to give the characters all the minutes they deserved, which is saying a lot given the length of this movie. This score might change when the next one comes out, but this is still one of the best animated movies out there.
