Terminator 3 Rise of the Machines

After trying to follow up on of the best sequels ever made, it's no suprise that Terminator 3 falls short. However, I'm a little surprised that it fell this far. This film is worse than its predecessor in every way. The action is much worse, just very bland and slow compared to some other Terminator scenes. The beats in between the action are also worse thanks to worse characters and a much worse story. John and Kate are boring to watch and lack significant depth. Sarah Connor is a much more interesting protagonist in writing and in acting. In addition, the story is much less interesting or entertaining. It's too similar to the previous story, making many of the story beats feel repetitive. In addition, the overall ending is not as concise or satisfying. While I'm not necessarily against the way this movie ended, I feel like it could have been done in a more interesting way, especially if the characters themselves were more interesting to follow. The logic behind the time-traveling and other sci-fi elements of the film is starting to erode as well, but its not like the Terminator series seeks realism. Anyway, I can see why they brought back Sarah Connor for many of the sequels.
