The 39 Steps
Alfred Hitchcock
Directed by:
1935

Not my first Hitchcock, and hopefully not my last. This is a thriller with a hoard of clever camera angles, plot twists, and tense moments. There's plenty of sensual subtext, not even including the constant framing of hands. All of these special features that come trademark with a Hitchcock film amplify a pretty solid story with some likeable characters. Definitely not the best plot of a spy thriller I've ever seen, but that's not to say it lacks quality, and you could argue that even the worst parts of this film are heightened to a great degree thanks to the directorial vision. I enjoyed the film from beginning to end, and will be glad to get the chance to see it again.
