The Killer

There are several movies that exist that follow the mind of a serial assassin or killer, but I don't think I've ever seen one quite like The Killer. You could call the main character a psycopath, and you'd probably be right, but he isn't some mass murderer who kills for fun or pleasure. It's interesting to hear his thoughts through narration, following his methodical actions as he travels around the world, executing on his often genius-level plans. Its even more interesting when his plans fail or his methodical mindset is stopped for some reason, giving the audience a deeper look into what exactly is holding him together. I really wish the movie had dived deeper into this aspect of the character, as we never really get to see him outside of his natural element for very long. Still, the film is certainly entertaining throughout, watching the unnamed man go through his killings and cleaning up after himself. The action, while there's not too much of it, is also pretty damn good. Honestly, I had a lot of fun watching this film. It's no masterful work of art, but it's a satisfying escapade with an ambigious protagonist. Had this film had a bit more story or character writing for the audience to grab hold of, this could have been a lot better, but there's not much wrong with this Fincher flick.
