The Umbrellas of Cherbourg

I'm not the most emotional person out there, but this film made me feel many different ways very easily. And that's a compliment; this is a masterful drama with an excellent backdrop and story. It's one of the most interesting war-related films I have ever watched, but the main focus here is certainly a story of love. It's awfully sad, thanks for the most part to the ending, which was perhaps the best part of the movie. It has the perfect kind of story for me. Besides that, the colors and shot selection were excellent, even though the color pallete was a bit hard on the eyes at times. The music is great too for the most part. I almost forget one of the main gimics of the film, that being the fact that the characters sing every line. I guess that's just a testement to how good it is, I just completely forget about it.
