Thunderball
Terence Young
Directed by:
1965

There's only one thing worse than being awful: being mediocre. And this movie is mediocre in spades. The little good action I've come to expect from the Bond series is missing here. What the writers did not miss, however, was the racism and sexism that permiates all Connery Bond movies. It honestly might be the worst its ever been with Thunderball, however, as Bond commits sexual assault not once, but twice, to the SAME WOMAN, in the span of about 3 minutes. And, to put the cherry on top, she falls in love with him after the second time. Of course. Besides that sour note, this movie isn't good in the slightest. There's little urgency from both the heroes and villains, the few action scenes that exist aren't very exciting, and the movie is laughably predictable. At least this isn't the *worst* Bond film I've ever seen, but it's too close.
