Across languages and genres, Bong's excellent filmmaking sticks out even amongst some of the best directors today. Known for breaking genre conventions, dark humor, and themes of class struggle, he has evolved from a cult following in Korea to a household name across the world. His particular emphasis on sci-fi and thrillers often makes for incredibly engaging film.
